Sean Tarry Racing Stables

Sun, Seehaam top fabulous four-timer

Sean and his team enjoyed a superb day at Turffontein on Saturday, winning four races including both the G3 Sycamore Sprint and Listed Jacaranda Handicap. Three of the four winners were ridden by Lyle Hewitson, with Joshwin Solomons landing the eighth race for the Tarry yard aboard Willow Express.
Speedy filly Tropic Sun, a daughter of Sean's former charge Skitt Skizzle -who continues to defy the odds as a stallion, jumped out and went out to make much of the running to win Saturday's G3 Sycamore Sprint (1160m) by two lengths.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, the Chris Van Niekerk owned Tropic Sun has now won three of just nine starts -and became Skitt Skizzle's first graded stakes winner with her emphatic win on Saturday.

Sean also sent out the Al Adiyaat South Africa bred and owned four-year-old Seehaam to justify favouritism, when that Vercingetorix filly won the Listed Jacaranda Handicap in brilliant fashion on Saturday.
A close up fifth, when badly out at the weights, in the G3 Acacia Handicap last time out, Seehaam simply outclassed her rivals as she romped home to land the Jacaranda Handicap by five lengths.

A three-parts sister to the Tarry trained G1 performers Al Sahem and Almutawakel, Seehaam has now won four of just six starts and she looks a very progressive filly in the making.
Sean also sent out Willow Express (whose SA Nursery winning sire Willow Magic continues to impress as a young stallion) to win for owners Messrs A Lahoud, M A Currie, Craig Zoghby, Riethaan Beleggings CC (Nom:Yana Da Corte) & Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd, and also won Saturday's first race with regally bred first-timer Pyromaniac.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms and the Coolmore Partnership, Silvano colt Pyromaniac defied a stout pedigree when scoring a smart win on debut over 1160m, and he looks a nice future prospect for owners Antony and Angela Beck and Maine Chance Farms.
Ironically, Pyromaniac is out of Pine Princess -who denied Sean a Triple Tiara clean sweep in 2015, when she beat the Tarry trained Siren's Call to win the G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks.
