Pomodoro son blooms

Author: admin

Sean's first Vodacom Durban July winner Pomodoro provided the Tarry yard with more success, when his progressive son Black Thorn won a good race at Turffontein on Saturday.
Racing towards the back of the field in Saturday's eighth race, a middle stakes over 2400m, Black Thorn was given a well judged ride by Craig Zackey.

The latter kept his mount off the pace until 200m from home, when Black Thorn powered into the lead.
From there, it was a matter of who would run second, with the Pomodoro gelding running out a clear cut winner by two lengths.

Owned by the Hollywood Syndicate, the Klawervlei Stud bred Black Thorn has now won three of ten starts and he has thrived with a step up in trip.
Black Thorn looks to be yet another progressive sort for Pomodoro, whose progeny only improve with time and racing.
