Tarry's Thursday treble

Author: admin

Sean had a memorable day at Turffontein on Thursday when the Tarry yard sent out a trio of winners.
Classy filly Full Velocity justified tote favouritism when she defied 60kgs to land Thursday's sixth race, a pinnacle stakes for fillies and mares over 1160m.
Under a confident ride from Keagan De Melo, the four-year-old daughter of Philanthropist, who was taking a big drop in class after finishing sixth in the recent G1 South African Fillies Sprint, made it three wins from her last four starts when storming home on Thursday to win by nearly three-parts of a length.

Winner of the G3 Poinsettia Stakes earlier this season, the Klawervlei Stud bred Full Velocity has now won seven times with the consistent filly having run unplaced just once in her career thus far.

The well bred Full Velocity, out of a Sebring daughter of the former Tarry trained champion National Colour, races for the Hollywood Syndicate.

Sean's former charge Willow Magic is the sire of Magic Tattoo, who ran out a convincing winner of Turffontein's first race on Thursday, a juvenile plate over 1100m.
Under an inform Calvin Habib, the two-year-old Bush Hill Stud bred colt powered away in the closing stages to win by a length and a quarter.

Third in both the G3 Protea Stakes and Listed Storm Bird Stakes, Magic Tattoo races for Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd in partnership with Mr Stein.

Calvin also booted home Manhattan to land the fourth race, a maiden plate over 1600m, for Sean Tarry Racing.
A daughter of champion sprinter Captain Of All, the Klawervlei Stud bred Manhattan showed plenty of heart in staying on gamely to break her maiden by just under half a length.

The well bred Manhattan, a half-sister to Listed Oaks Trial winner Chariot Of Gold, is out of a half-sister to the Tarry trained July winner, and now successful sire, Pomodoro.
