Curtain comes down a fine season

Author: admin

Sean and his team enjoyed another good year in the recently concluded 2021-2022 racing season.
The Tarry yard ended the past season fourth on the Leading Trainers premiership for the past season, with Sean's charges winning 105 races during the 2021-2022 season.

Horses from the Tarry yard earned more than R14.408 million during the past season, which had plenty of memorable moments for Sean and his team.

Perhaps the highpoint of the season was star filly Rain In Holland landing the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara, before going on to triumph in the G2 4Racing Gerald Rosenberg Stakes.

Other highlights from in the season that was included Flying Carpet sweeping to victory in the G1 WSB Presents The Gauteng Summer Cup, classy filly Under Your Spell landing the G2 World Sports Betting Fillies Guineas, and Sweet Pepper and Thunderstruck landing the G1 Allan Robertson Championship and G1 Gold Medallion on the same day.
Sean was unlucky not to end the season with another G1 win, with the Tarry trained Rock The Fox just beaten into second in Saturday's G1 Thekwini Stakes. Under Calvin Habib, the Canford Cliffs filly was just edged out when going down by a short-head in the Thekwini Stakes, but it was a great effort from Rock The Fox who looks a promising prospect for the season ahead.

Well done to the whole team back home, whose hard work has ensured that Sean and his owners have had another fine season, and thanks go out to all the loyal owners for their ongoing support.
