Farm Sale grad’s debut win highlights Tarry double

Author: admin

The Sean Tarry trained Image Award, an R180 000 buy from last year’s Klawervlei Farm Sale, put up an eye catching debut to win impressively at Scottsville on Wednesday.
The two-year-old daughter of Jay Peg ran on strongly under apprentice Ashton Arries to register a one and a quarter length debut win over 1000m, despite showing plenty of greenness in running and proving somewhat reluctant to load.

Image Award is owned by Chris Van Niekerk, Gavin Almanza and Corryvecken Racing CC.

Wednesday’s winner is yet another fine advert for the Klawervlei Farm Sale, whose past graduates also include Saturday’s G1 Daily News 2000 winner and 2017 Vodacom Durban July favourite Edict Of Nantes.

She was one of two winners on the day for Sean and his team, with the Chris Van Niekerk owned Concealed Secret breaking his maiden emphatically by one and a half lengths over 1200m.

Bred by Dr Ian Heyns, the A P Answer sired Concealed Secret was a R250 000 buy from the 2016 Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale. The colt is out of the Kahal mare Kahal’s Secret –a five time winning daughter of G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes winner Kefaah’s Secret.
