Big hopes for Pomodoro 2yos

Author: admin

Former stable star Pomodoro, who has made such a bright start to his stud career, could be strongly represented in the juvenile features on Sun Met at the end of the month.
Sean has entered Pomodoro colt Royal Italian, an arguably unlucky loser when a close second on debut, and Pomodoro filly, Return Flight, for the Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes and the former July winner could also be represented by runners in the same day’s R1 000 000 Kuda Sprint –his sons Call To Duty, Cirillo and Royal Italian all having been entered for the race.
Pomodoro, currently South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by stakes, was a cracking racehorse who won or placed in all of the Durban July, G1 SA Derby, G1 SA Classic, G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, and G1 Champions Challenge.
The versatile bay, who won the 2012 G1 Vodacom Durban July, is a son of seven times champion sire Jet Master and the former Tarry trained Broodmare Of The Year Golden Apple.

Sun Met day takes place at Kenilworth on January 27th.
