Tuesday treble for Tarry!

Author: admin

Sean enjoyed a memorable Tuesday at the Vaal yesterday when the yard was represented by a hatrick of winners.
Tarry trained runners won races two, three and four, to maintain the great run of form that Sean and his team have enjoyed recently.

Kahal four-year-old Star Halo, making her second start after a long lay-off, was given a canny ride by Raymond Danielson. Danielson kept the lightly raced filly just off a sedate pace, before sending her through along the rail to score a 2.4 length maiden win over 1600m.

Raymond was impressed with Star Halo and felt there could be more to come from her.

Bred, and part-owner with Mr Drummond-Hay, by the Bush Hill Stud, the well bred Star Halo is a half-sister to Michaelmas Handiap winner King Neptune.

Sean then teamed up with red-hot rider Lyle Hewitson to win races three and four, with Psychic and Side Show respectively.
A Visionaire half-brother to the yard’s Oaks winning filly Witchcraft, the Summerhill Stud bred Psychic was all the rage to shed his maiden when dispatched the 26-10 favourite for the third race.
He duly obliged but not without some uneasy moments. Psychic, who takes a long time to get going and who had the widest draw of all to overcome, appeared boxed in with 500m left to but Hewitson never panicked and produced the gelding with a fine late rattle to win going away.

Psychic races for Chris Van Niekerk and Portapa (Pty) Ltd t/a Supabets.

Hewitson, who booted home three winners on Tuesday, was also seen to good advantage aboard Side Show.
The latter quickened up nicely to record a fourth career win for owner Brian Riley over2000 metres.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, the four-year-old gelding is a son of sire sensation Querari, whose progeny have been firing on all cylinders this season.
