Sean sent out a trio of winners at the Vaal racecourse on Thursday, with all three of the yard’s winners steered to victory by last season’s Champion Jockey/Apprentice Lyle Hewitson.

Hewitson impressed when booting home Wild Path to shed his maiden in the second race, a maiden plate run over 1200m.
Despite appearing beaten with 400m left to run, Lyle coaxed more out of the Highlands Farms Stud bred three-year-old, with Wild Path getting up to win by 0.3 of a length.

Owned by Chris Van Niekerk, the 3yo gelded son of Pathfork was making just his third career outing on Thursday and was dropping back in trip in Thursday’s race.

Wonderous Climber, owned by Chris, has seen his merit rating drop steadily over the previous month, and this proved a notable benefit, with the regally bred Dynasty gelding duly arriving in Thursday’s

The half-brother to the former Tarry trained champion Cloth Of Cloud, was way off the gallop early on, but Lyle Hewitson bought the 4yo gelding with a strong run down the inside to score a convincing two and a half length win over the Street Cry son Mutrib.

Former stable star, and July winner, Pomodoro was responsible for Sean’s final winner on Thursday, when Fortuna Doro, always prominent in the running, stormed home to shed her maiden by a convincing 1.7 lengths over 1600m.

Bred by the Digteby Stud, 3yo Fortuna Doro (a member of her sire’s impressive first crop) had been runner up at her previous outing when second over 1600m at the Vaal.
The Pomodoro filly is owned by Sean Tarry Racing CC in partnership with Jarryd Lahoud and Larry Pogir.
