Legend scores at Scottsville

Author: admin

The Tarry yard were responsible for an eye catching winner at Scottsville on Wednesday when Last Of The Legend won over 1400 metres.

Ridden by Luke Ferraris, the 3yo was making his first official start, with Last Of The Legend having impressed in a barrier trial on his only other racetrack appearance. The 3yo produced a fine turn of foot to break his maiden by 1.75 length, and while he may not have beaten much there was plenty to like about his style of victory.

Bred by the Beaumont Stud, Last Of The Legend is owned by Chris Van Niekerk.

He is a son of deceased champion Horse Chestnut, who is also the sire of Sean's 2018 G1 G-Bets Gauteng Summer Cup winner Tilbury Fort.

Last Of The Legend, a R225 000 buy from the 2017 March Yearling Sale, is out of the Jallad mare Caroline Cherie- a winning own sister to G1 performer Lubricator.

The stable's continued success in KZN is a tribute to the hard work that Sean's staff put in behind the scenes, and kudos must go to them for their ongoing efforts!
