A Tuesday Turffontein double

Author: admin

Fresh off winning a pair of races, including the G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks, on Saturday Sean and his stable enjoyed more success at Turffontein on Tuesday when they sent out O Lucky Man and Hareer to win races six and eight respectively.

A son of Kahal and former Tarry trained star Happy Archer, the four-year-old O Lucky Man made amends for a disappointing run last time out when picked up his third career win when successful over 1450 metres.
Ridden by up and coming apprentice Kabelo Matsunyane, the Drakenstein Stud bred O Lucky Man stayed on to post a 0.4 of a length win for owners Brian Riley, Mr Visagie and Sean Tarry Racing CC.

The Tarry yard’s second win on Tuesday came when the Al Adaayit South Africa owned Hareer ran on from the back of the field to break her maiden over 1600m.
Bred by Al Adaayit, the 3yo daughter of Silvano was given a finely timed ride by Lyle Hewitson, who settled his mount at the back of the field before bringing Hareer with a strong late run to score a cosy victory.
