Forest Express claims Spook Express

Author: admin

Sean enjoyed the 200th stakes winner of his career when talented filly Forest Express won the Listed Spook Express Handicap at the Vaal on Thursday.

Fittingly, the four-year-old is owned by Seanís long time stalwart owner Chris Van Niekerk.

Forest Express, a bargain R15 000 buy from the 2016 Klawervlei Farm Sale, stamped herself a valuable future broodmare prospect when picking up the first black type win of her career on Thursday.
The Klawervlei Stud bred filly powered home down the inside under champion jockey Lyle Hewitson to score a cosy half length win in the 2400 metre contest -doing well to win off a pace which did not suit her.

A daughter of former Gauteng Guineas winner Oracy, Forest Express took her earnings to over R360 000 with her Spook Express victory.

It was a win full of merit for Forest Express, who has won or finished in the money in each of her last seven starts!
