Pomodoro son strikes at Turffontein

Author: admin

Jockey Raymond Danielson enjoyed a 100% strike rate at Turffontein on Saturday, when he brought Sean’s progressive Culture Trip to score over1450 metres on the inside track over the weekend.
The four-year-old son of Pomodoro stayed on smartly down the inside to post a one length score, and Raymond commented after the race, that Culture Trip (not surprisingly given his pedigree) will prefer even more ground than the 1450m of Saturday’s race.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, and owned by Sean Tarry Racing CC, Culture Trip was making a quick return to the track, with the gelding having finished second at the Vaal on Thursday. The lightly raced Culture Trip has now won three of only six starts, with the promise of more to come!

The Klawervlei Stud based Pomodoro, Sean’s first ever July winner, made an instant impression when his first crop produced the likes of Equus Champion Return Flight, and high-class G1 performer Cirillo, and the son of Jet Master looks to have another smart crop of 3yos representing him this season.

Sean also saddled Al Adiyaat South Africa’s well-bred Matloob to make a pleasing debut, when that son of Silvano running fourth over 1600 metres.
