Pomodoro son storms home to victory

Author: admin

Seanís former July winner Pomodoro has some smart looking three-year-olds to his name, and the son of Jet Master came up with another eye catching winner when his Klawervlei Stud bred son Viper Jet stormed home to shed his maiden impressively at Turffontein on Saturday.

Fifth, to another son of Pomodoro, in the recent Listed Secretariat Stakes, Viper Jet appeared to have lost his chances at the start in Saturday race, but under Daniel Baase, the gelding powered home from off the pace to score an emphatic three length win.

While Viper Jet hardly beat the strongest field, there was much to like about his style of victory in the 1450m race.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, and owned by Chris Van Niekerk, Viper Jet has an interesting pedigree, being sired by a son of Jet Master and produced by a daughter of Jet Master!

The yardís star filly Celtic Sea lost little in defeat when last seasonís Equus Champion was touched off in Saturdayís G1 Bidvest Majorca Stakes when going down narrowly to last yearís winner Clouds Unfold.

An impressive winner of the G2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes at her penultimate start, Celtic Sea was game in defeat over a mile while still managing to beat some of the countryís top fillies and mares.
