Redlight game in victory

Author: admin

Talented Pomodoro gelding Putontheredlight showed plenty of courage when recording an all the way win at Turffontein on Sunday.
The three-year-old, who had been runner up in the G2 Durban Goldenshoe as a two-year-old, bounced out well under Luke Ferraris in Sunday's graduation plate over 1450 metres.

Luke gave Putontheredlight a perfect ride, with the Klawervlei Stud bred three-year-old appearing beaten close home, before re-rallying to down favourite Riverstown by half a length.

Owned, like Pomodoro, by Chris Van Niekerk, Putontheredlight looked a picture in the pre-race parade and his win on Sunday is a fine tribute to the team back home who have done a sterling job with him.
