Golden Belle too strong

Pomodoro's talented three-year-old daughter Golden Belle showed her well being in no uncertain terms when she romped home to a convincing win at the Vaal on Tuesday afternoon.
An impressive winner of the G2 World Sports Betting Camellia Stakes at her previous start, the Klawervlei Stud bred filly always looked difficult to oppose in Tuesday's allowance plate (1200m) and so it proved.

Ridden again by Luke Ferraris, the Chris Van Niekerk owned Golden Belle, rated at least 8kgs better handicapped than her rivals in Tuesday's race, pulled well clear to score by four lengths and was eased down close home.

A somewhat difficult customer at home, Golden Belle's win is a feather in the cap of the team back home, who have done an excellent job with her.

She was one of two winners on Tuesday for the Tarry yard, with Sean also sending out the Al Adaayit South Africa bred and owned filly Temenee to shed her maiden by half a length when victorious over 1600m.
A Var daughter of the former Tarry trained G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes winner Tamaanee, Temenee was given a well timed ride by Luke Ferraris to get off the mark at the third time of asking.
