Another Double For Tarry

The Tarry stable had a good double at Turffontein on Friday evening when Sean's charges Ethanator and Radu won their respective races.

Three-year-old Ethanator was given a good, positive ride by Calvin Habib when always prominent in Friday's 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Plate (1000m), with the pair staying on strongly to win by three parts of a length.

Owned by Eugene and Sandy Arundel, Ethanator, who was making his fifth start on Friday, was bred by Millstream Farm.

The gelding is a son of Rafeef and the Danehill Dancer mare Dee Dee Roo, with Ethanator hailing from th e immediate family of the Rafeef sired G2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans winner Union Square.

Ethanator's stablemate Radu provided Piere Strydom with a tough time of it early in Friday's Free Kiddies Entertainment 25 November MR 76 Handicap (1600m), with the Rabada filly overracing and pulling in the early stages. However, Strydom managed to settle the four-year-old, and Radu went on to claim Friday's contest by half a length.

Owned by Larry Nestadt, the Summerhill Stud bred Radu is a half-sister to 2022 G1 Wilgerbosdrift HF Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes winner MK's Pride.
