Fresh off landing Saturday's G1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes with champion Princess Calla, the Tarry team picked up another feature race at Turffontein the following day, when Sean's charge Litigation won the Listed Dr Richard Maponya Handicap courageously.

Under a confident ride from Gavin Lerena, five-year-old Litigation jumped out well and quickly went off to make the running in Sunday's R225 000 feature.

Litigation, whose jockey has ridden him 15 times, looked to have a race on his hands with 200m to race, but he fought back gamely in the closing stages to hold off a wall of challenges and score a brave win by a long head.

Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, Litigation races for Jarryd and Laurence Wernars, Harry Willson and Pippa Mickleburgh.

It was a gutsy win by Litigation, who had 60kgs on his back and soft going to contend with.

A son of Greys Inn (also the sire of Sean's champion Legal Eagle), Litigation has now won seven of 29 starts including the 2022 G3 TAB4Racing Victory Moon Stakes.
