The Tarry trained pair of Mrs Geriatrix and Under Your Spell both picked up awards at Friday night's KZN Breeders Awards ceremony. Not only was the Clifton Stud bred Mrs Geriatrix named KZN Breeders Horse Of The Year and KZN Breeders 2YO Filly of the Year, Under Your Spell claimed the award of the KZN Breeders Older Female award on Friday.

Owned by the Magical Lady Syndicate, Mrs Geriatrix, whose dam Velvet Glove was honoured as KZN's Broodmare Of The Year, went unbeaten in five starts at two, winning all of the G1 Allan Robertson Championship, G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper, G2 World Sports Betting SA Fillies Nursery and Listed Ruffian Stakes.

The daughter of Vercingetorix has currently won six of seven starts.

The Summerhill Stud bred Under Your Spell, like Mrs Geriatrix a winner of the G1 Allan Robertson Championship, won twice last season and downed high-class males Red Saxon, William Robertson, Bingwa and MK's Pride when victorious in the G2 World Sports Betting Hawaii Stakes.
