Comet Streaks Home

Sean Tarry looks to have a potentially high-class three-year-old in his stable in the form of Tail Of The Comet. Arguably unlucky not to be unbeaten, that Gimmethegreenlight colt made a big impression when winning at Turffontein on Saturday.

Under S'Manga Khumalo, Tail Of The Comet pulled his noseband off as he jumped, but despite this, he managed to put up a performance which stamped him a horse to follow this season.

Under a typically well-judged ride from his jockey, Tail Of The Comet was always well placed, and quickened up smartly when asked the question before going away to win as he liked by over two and a half lengths.

A Cape campaign is on the cards for Tail Of The Comet, an impressive winner on debut before finishing a close-up third in the G2 Tabgold Umkhomazi Stakes at the end of last season.

Bred by Nadeson Park Stud, Tail Of The Comet races for the ASSM Racing Syndicate, Gary Harvett, George O'Brien and Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd.

He is out of the Jet Master mare Comet Chaser, who won 3 times up to 1100m including the Listed Laisserfaire Stakes.
