Sean sent out a smart looking debut winner on Saturday, when well bred three-year-old Garlandsofgreenery won convincingly at Turffontein.
Under Piere Strydom, Garlandsofgreenery was always well placed in Saturday’s 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Plate (F&M) (1160m) and quickened up smartly in the closing stages to win nicely by a length and a quarter.
Racing for Dale and Gary Basel, in partnership with Lynn Bouwer, Garlandsofgreenery looks to have the scope to build on this debut win.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Garlandsofgreen is a daughter of Gimmethegreenlight and the Dynasty mare Imperious Bride (the filly also hails from the family of the Gimmethegreenlight sired dual G1 winner Gimme A Prince).
