Sapphire Sparkles For Tarry Racing

The Sean Tarry Racing stable looks to be in fine form, with the team having sent out two eye-catching winners at Turffontein on Saturday.

Green Sapphire, bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, was particularly impressive, with the three-year-old running out an impressive winner of the fifth (originally carded as the sixth) race on Saturday.

The recent maiden winner made it back-to-back victories when storming home to land Saturday's For Hospitality Bookings Call 011 681 1796 FM 78 Handicap (1160m) as she liked by more than two lengths.

Impeccably bred, Green Sapphire is a Gimmethegreenlight half-sister to graded stakes winners King Of Gems and Pink Tourmaline, and hopefully she can build on her latest win.

Sean and his team also saddled What A Winter filly, Exceedingly Glam, to win the first race on Saturday.

Bred by Greenacres Trust in partnership with Hemel 'N Aarde Stud, the three-year-old had finished second in her three starts prior to Saturday's win and was a well-deserving winner at Turffontein.

Exceedingly Glam was always up with the pace and, when asked the question, stayed on gamely to win by nearly half a length.

The filly, a full sister to the smart Elegant Ice, races for Ms. Natalie Turner, Messrs M A Currie, H J Da Silva, B W Hamilton, A Lahoud, Jarryd Lahoud, Larry Pogir & G A R Sturlese.

Both Green Sapphire and Exceedingly Glam were ridden to victory by Piere Strydom.
