Star Filly Remains Unbeaten
Sean's charge, and last season's Equus Champion 2YO Filly, Mrs Geriatrix made it six wins from six starts with a courageous win in the Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (Fillies) at Turffontein on Saturday.
Making her first start since landing last season's G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper in July, the Clifton Stud bred filly, under a confident ride from Richard Fourie, got up close home to edge out runner-up White Pearl and claim the R180 000 first prize by a head.
Mrs Geriatrix, who looks sure to come on for this run, is owned by the Magical Lady Syndicate, who were on course to lead their wonderful filly in.
A daughter of Vercingetorix and the Kahal mare Velvet Glove, Mrs Geriatrix won all five of her races at two including the G1 Allan Robertson Championship, G2 Golden Slipper, G2 WSB SA Fillies Nursery and Listed Ruffian Stakes.
One of the most popular horses in training, Mrs Geriatrix looks on course for another big season in 2023-2024.
