3 In A Row For Winter

Sean's charge Mid Winter Wind made it three wins in a row when winning a good race at Turffontein on Sunday.

Under a typically well judged ride from Richard Fourie, Mid Winter jumped out well and raced just off the pace early in Sunday's SA Classic 2 March Middle Stakes (1400m).

The What A Winter gelding kicked on nicely and went on to win by three-parts of a length.

Gelding has made a big difference to Mid Winter Wind, with the temperamental three-year-old also benefitting from racing which quietens him down.

Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, Mid Winter Wind is out of the Dynasty sired G1 winner and Equus Champion Lady In Black.

His well bred stable mate Celestial City caught the eye when finishing fourth on Saturday, with the full-brother to Hawwaam making his first start since last July.
