Rumours Impresses

The Tarry yard sent out progressive filly Celtic Rumours to win impressively at the Vaal on Tuesday.

Despite having a poor draw, and having to lug 62kgs, Celtic Rumours showed her class when mowing down her rivals, under Gavin Lerena, to claim Tuesday's TAB 4Racing App FM 96 Divided Handicap (1450m) in fine style.

The Vercingetorix filly motored home, from the back of the field, to get up close home and win convincingly by half a length.

Celtic Rumours made a big impression on her jockey, who described her as a "good filly with plenty of heart" in the post-race interview.

Bred by Peter De Beyer, Celtic Rumours, who has now won four of ten starts, is owned by The Undertakers Syndicate.

The well-bred filly is not only a half-sister to Listed Swallow Stakes winner Sarah but also to this season's unbeaten two-year-old Almond Sea.
