Tarry Stars Nominated For Highveld Awards

A number of Sean's charges have been nominated for the 2024 Highveld Feature Season Awards, with the awards set to be announced at a ceremony at The Galleria on May 18th.

Classy two-year-old Proceed is one of three juveniles up for the title of Champion, a two-year-old gelding, with Proceed having captured the G3 TAB Protea Stakes last time out.

His stablemates Mrs Browning and Silver Hills have both been nominated for the Champion older filly/mare award, with Mrs Browning having won both the G2 TAB Camellia Stakes and G3 Joburg Tourism Carry On Alice Stakes this season and Silver Hills having prevailed in the Listed Betway Wolf Power 1600 and Listed Wilgerbosdrift Acacia Stakes.

The Tarry Yard's star sprinter Thunderstruck, also a nominee for the Champion older horse award, is the leading contender for the Champion sprinter award, with the Ridgemont-bound son of Rafeef having landed the G1 Jonsson Workwear Computaform Sprint last time out.

His stablemate Lucky Lad has also been nominated for this award, with the G1 winning son of Gimmethegreenlight victorious in the recent G2 Jehan Malherbe Senor Santa Stakes.
