Thunder Provides Tarry Yard With 300th Stakes Win

Thunderstruck Sean Tarry Stakes Winner South Africa

When the Tarry stable's charge Thunderstruck won the recent G1 Jonsson Workwear Computaform Sprint, he provided the yard with an important milestone.

Thunderstruck's Computaform success is the 300th stakes win for Sean and his team -and this notable win can hardly have come in a better race.

Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, Thunderstruck is a fantastic advertisement for the quality of horse to be found on the National Yearling Sale.

The son of Rafeef and the Var sired G2 Post Merchants winner Varikate, Thunderstruck was a R1 000 000 buy from the 2021 National Yearling Sale.

Thunderstruck, who also looks to be an exciting future stud prospect, has proved a bargain buy with the Rafeef colt having already earned well over R2.4 million in prize money.

Winning stakes races is the ultimate goal for a trainer, with G1, G2, G3 and Listed races all providing a meaningful test of the quality of thoroughbred in the yard.

South Africa's oldest premier yearling sale, the National Sale will once again take place in Germiston on April 18th and 19th, where more equine stars look set to go through the sales ring.

Sean will be at the National Sale and is happy to assist any new owners in finding their horse of their dreams.

Sean has a fine record at this sale, with his purchases including, among others, recent Equus Champion Mrs Geriatrix.
