Doncaster Glory For Colour Grandson

Sean's late charge National Colour continues to make her presence felt in pedigrees around the world.

On Saturday, Celestial Legend, a grandson of the wonderful grey, made it back-to-back G1 wins when he landed the G1 The Star Doncaster Mile at Randwick.

Winner of the G1 The Agency Randwick Guineas last time out, three-year-old Celestial Legend charged home in the last 100m to beat Pericles and fellow three-year-old, Militarize.

Nugget finished fourth, beaten 0.75L - a year on from running third (0.92L) behind Mr Brightside in the Doncaster

Celestial Legend has now won four times from just eight starts.

Australia's latest equine start, Celestial Legend is a son of Dundeel and the Snitzel mare Sarraqa. The latter is an unraced three-part sister to both G1 Computaform Sprint winner and leading sire Rafeef as well as to Equus Champion Mustaaqeem.

Sarraqa's dam, National Colour, was an exceptional racemare who was South Africa's Joint Horse Of The Year in 2005-2006. The daughter of National Assembly won all of the G1 Computaform Sprint, G1 South African Fillies Sprint and G1 Mercury Sprint in South Africa. Sent overseas, National Colour confirmed her status as an outstanding sprinter when she ran second in the G1 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.
