Turffontein Treble For Tarry
Sean Tarry Racing celebrated a trio of winners at Turffontein on Monday, with the meeting having been postponed from Saturday due to inclement weather.
The stable sent out first-timer Crystal Grove to win the second race, Futurenaire the third race, and Page Boy the fifth race on the card.
All three winners were booted home by Craig Zackey, who has been riding out of his skin.
Two-year-old Crystal Grove, who impressed going to the start, made a winning debut when victorious in Monday's Racing Today Maiden Juvenile Plate (1160m).
Under red-hot rider Craig Zackey, the daughter of The United States raced towards the back of the field early on.
When Zackey asked the question, Crystal Grove hit the front 150m from home and powered away to win smartly by over two lengths.
Owned by the ASSM Racing Syndicate, the Varsfontein Stud-bred filly is out of the Windrush mare Elysian Gem.
The Tarry stable struck again in the very next race, when Futura gelding Futurenaire won the www.tab4racing.com Maiden Plate over 1160m.
The three-year-old hit the front 300m from home, and he fought off Mizzen Sword gamely to win by a short-head.

The yard's third and final winner on Monday came when Flower Alley gelding Page Boy romped home to win the Book For Classic 1 March Maiden Plate (1600) as he liked.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the well-bred sophomore hit the front full of running and stormed home to win by six for the Wernars family.
It remains to be seen how the form stands up, with Page Boy beating a rather weak field.
