Willow Magic Mare Wins Again

Sean's former charge Willow Magic provided the Tarry yard with a winner at Turffontein on Saturday when his daughter Magical Flight caused a 14-1 surprise when victorious in the fifth race on the card.

Saturday's TAB Telebet FM 95 Handicap (F&M) (1600m) was a great race for Sean and his team with Tarry runners Magical Flight and Elembee running first and second respectively.

It was a seventh win for Magical Flight, who has now earned more than R700 000 in prize money.

Under a great ride from Serino Moodley, six-year-old Magical Flight went out to make the running on Saturday and she stayed on gamely to hold off her fast-finishing stablemate Elembee and score by a long head.

Bred by Summerhill Stud, Magical Flight (who had finished third in the 2021 G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic) races for Messrs Craig Zoghby, MarkCurrie, Chad Francis, Bruce Gardner, Jarryd Lahoud, Allan F Peters, Larry Pogir, Mrs Beryl Lahoud & Sean Tarry Racing (Pty)Ltd.

The Tarry yard also has plenty to look forward to if the runs of Hotarubi and Cousin Casey on Saturday are anything to go by. Hotarubi caught the eye when finishing second, to champion Sandringham Summit, in Saturday's G2 TAB Gauteng Guineas, while former Equus Champion Cousin Casey made a pleasing return to the track on Saturday when he ran third over 1400 metres.
