A Turffontein Feature Race Double!

Sean Tarry and his team enjoyed a memorable day at Turffontein on Saturday when Sean's charges Let's Go Now and Silver Hills claimed the G3 Mother Russia Stakes and Listed Betway Wolf Power 1600 respectively.

A full-sister to champion, and G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic winner, Bless My Stars, three-year-old Let's Go Now made amends for a disappointing effort last time out with an eye-catching win in the Mother Russia Stakes, which had been postponed after heavy rains.

She was given a fine ride by S'Manga Khumalo, with S'Manga having also partnered Bless My Stars to victory in last year's G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic. Raced towards the back of the field early on, Let's Go Now was unleashed late in running by S'Manga and the pair flew up to score by a neck.

Let's Go Now's stablemate Mia Moo caught the eye back in third spot and she looks to have a very bright future.

A small filly with a big heart, the Varsfontein Stud bred Let's Go Now races for Kestorm Investments.

The well-bred Let's Go Now is the daughter of champion sire Gimmethegreenlight and G3 Victress Stakes winner Star Express.

Blue-blooded four-year-old Silver Hills stamped herself as a hugely valuable future stud prospect when she won Saturday's Betway Wolf Power 1600. A daughter of Silvano and G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks winner Ash Cloud, the half-sister to G2 winner Pacaya stormed home down the inside of the track, under a well-judged ride by Serino Moodley, to land her first stakes race by a neck.

Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, who are enjoying a wonderful season in 2023-2024, Silver Hills showed off a fine turn of foot on Saturday and she is living up to the promise she showed earlier in her career.
