Cape Glory For Princess Calla
Fresh off being named South Africa’s Horse Of The Year for 2022-2023, the Sean Tarry trained Princess Calla claimed more award glory when honoured at the Cape Breeders Awards, held at Kenilworth racecourse on Friday.
Calla Named Horse Of The Year
Sean's charges stole the show at Wednesday night's Equus Awards ceremony, which took place at the Senate Room at Emperors Palace. Not only was star mare Princess Calla honoured as South Africa's Horse Of The Year for the 2022-2023 season (she was also named Equus Champion Older Female), the Tarry trained runners Mrs Geriatrix, Bless My Stars and Future Pearl all walked off with Equus Award honours.
KZN Glory For Princess Calla
The Tarry-trained Princess Calla, who had such a wonderful season in 2022-2023, was honoured at the 2023 KZN Racing Awards ceremony, held at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday night.
Triple Tiara Winner Retired
Dual Equus Champion, and Triple Tiara winner, Rain In Holland has run her last race and will be retired to stud. One of the best and most charismatic fillies to grace the South African turf in recent years, the Drakenstein Stud bred and owned mare retires to Drakenstein having won 11 of her 22 starts and earned R3 528 500 in prize money.
