2023-2024 WHAT A SEASON!
Sean Tarry Racing had a season to remember in the recently concluded 2023-2024 racing season. The stable ended the past season runner-up on the South African trainers premiership, with the yard's runners winning 89 races and amassing more than R19.439 million in stakes.
Farewell Thunderstruck
Sean Tarry Racing bid farewell to their star sprinter, Thunderstruck. The son of Rafeef and grandson of Sean's former champion, National Colour, is set to arrive at Ridgemont, where he will stand his season this year.
Lad Shows His Class
Sean Tarry Racing followed up a good day at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday by sending out the top-class colt Lucky Lad to win at Turffontein on Sunday.
Golden Horseshoe 1-2 for Tarry Yard
Sean and his team have some cracking two-year-olds this season, and the Tarry yard's two-year-olds impressed once again in 2023-2024 when Sean's charges Cosmic Speed and Proceed finished first and second in the G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe on Hollywoodbets Durban July Day.
Mrs Geriatrix Impresses In KZN
Just days before the running of the 2024 G1 Durban July, the Tarry stable struck three times at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
Not only did the stable's top-class filly, Mrs Geriatrix, run out a convincing winner of Saturday's R600 000 KwaZulu-Natal Breeders Mile, but Sean also sent out Dantonfromsandton and Willow's Wish to win their respective races.
All three of the stable's winners on Saturday were steered home by Richard Fourie.
Stable Stars Draw Wide In July
The Tarry Yard will be looking for a third July win when Sean saddles Cousin Casey and Future Pearl (their stablemate Hotarubi is the second reserve runner) in the 2024 G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, set to be run at Greyville on July 6th.
Great Derby/Oaks Double For ST Racing
The Tarry yard had already enjoyed plenty of KZN feature race success this season heading into Saturday, and Sean's great strike rate in feature races continued when his charges Future Pearl and Red Maple won Saturday's G3 Tabgold Derby and G2 Tabgold Oaks, respectively.
Pomodoro Filly Wins On Debut
Sean sent out Golden Moment, a daughter of the Tarry-trained July winner Pomodoro, to win on debut at Turffontein on Sunday. The two-year-old was given a peach of a ride by record-breaking jockey Richard Fourie, with Fourie bringing Golden Moment with a late run down the inside of the track to land the TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Maiden Plate (1160m).
A Great Day For The Tarry Team At Scottsville!
Sean and his stable had another wonderful day at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday. Not only did the Tarry-trained pair of Proceed and Lucky Lad win the G1 Gold Medallion and G1 Golden Horse Sprint, respectively, but the Tarry stable also saddled Rodeo Drive and Mrs. Browning to finish second in both the G1 Allan Robertson Championship and the G1 South African Fillies Sprint.
Turffontein Double For Team Tarry
Sean sent out both Dantonfromsandton and The Africa House to win their respective races at Turffontein on Thursday.
